- Gasket mount — soft gasket strips sit between the plate and the case, letting the whole assembly “float” slightly for a softer feel.
- Tray mount — the PCB screws directly to the bottom case, which tends to feel firmer and less forgiving on typos in typing pressure.

Step 5: Add Sound-Dampening Foam (Optional but Recommended)
If your kit came with foam (case foam, plate foam, or PE foam), now’s the time to add it before closing everything up. Step 6: Close the Case and Add Keycaps
